Softball Performance Training
 |
Softball is a sport combined of core strength, shoulder stability, speed and eye-hand coordination. Softball specific training at the Sports Institute will focus on each of these variables to maximize the athlete's potential on the field. By incorporating integrated stabilization and strength equivalent exercises in our training programs, we are able to assess, teach, and perform these exercise protocols to develop a well rounded player. By increasing shoulder strength and stability an athlete has the ability to throw a baseball harder and to receive torque on the shoulder joint. By increasing the core and lower body strength a player is able to take stresses off of the shoulder and distribute it fully to the whole body to be a more efficient thrower. Each athlete will also be assessed and monitored in corrective exercise training to prevent injury.
The softball players at the Sports Institute will perform Olympic strength training to develop power and strength, rotary exercise for core development, over speed treadmills for speed training and baseball specific drills.
